Magnesium dies are made with a chemical/photo etched process that gives clean, crisp images for hot stamping text and graphics. They are inexpensive and durable.
Custom magnesium dies are the perfect way to hot stamp your emblem or stylized text. Magnesium is a hard, yet light, material for your emblem. All dies are deep etched to allow for crisp foil stamping and nice deep debossing on leather. All dies are made by request, and our normal turn-around time is 48 hours.
Custom Die Pricing
While we can create any emblem you wish to cast, there are still some regulations and guidelines ordering your custom-made die.
We require simple camera-ready black and white artwork. You can either send a hard copy of the art by mail or you may send us an electronic copy via email to email@example.com. We ONLY accept .PDF and .EPS file formats. Please remember your image must be all black and white line art. No gray scale, faxed copies, or scanned art.
By Mail: If you choose to mail your artwork to us, we only accept the following formats: 3-1/2″ disk, zip disk, or hard copy camera-ready artwork.
By Email: If you choose to email your artwork, please note that the higher quality your source image is the higher quality the die will be. For this reason we would prefer vector formatted files from Freehand, Illustrator, or CorelDraw (saved as an .AI). Microsoft Word files do not meet the minimum requirements for artwork dies, although some straight lettering and text is OK. Photoshop files must be at least 300dpi. We cannot accept images in greyscale, RGB, CMYK, or Indexed color modes as they create a rasterized (pixelated, rough) edge when printed.
Please make your images the exact same size you want made into a die. We do not size or alter images for you.
We have two styles of holders: Die Holders and Open Chase Holders. Die Holders take Flat Plate dies only while Open Chase holders take Type High Dies only. In order to make sure your order is made for your machines and holder, please let us know which style and size holder you are using. Customers with the Album Master and Book Master model machines always order Type High Dies.
